Welcome to Year 6.
We are thrilled to be working with your children this year and we are looking forward to the next 12 months together. Although this is an incredibly important year in terms of preparing for Secondary School, we shall endeavour to continue to balance hard work with fun learning. We are proud of the relationships we have with your children and feel that we know them extremely well. Please remember you are all a part of our community and are welcome into school at anytime.
Mrs Poyntz & Mrs Birkett
Reading books need to be brought into school every Monday and an adult needs to sign their child's reading record. In Year 6, we encourage them to read 100 pages or more a week.
Your child has received a copy of our essential Maths Facts and Grammar Facts sheets to help them to learn important definitions and facts. Please help them to practise these regularly, along with supporting them in learning all their times tables by heart up to 12 X 12.
Your child will receive a piece of Maths and English (this may be grammar or comprehension), which is due the following Monday and should be completed to a good standard in blue/black ink for English and pencil for Maths.
Thursdays and Fridays. (Swimming will take place in the first half of Spring term).
We encourage the children to have their PE kits every day. They are expected to have both their indoor and outdoor kits in school (see Prospectus for kit lists).
